Hoot

The book Hoot is a really good book.  It starts off with a boy named Roy.  Roy has just moved from Montana all the way to Florida.  The change was extermely diffucult for him.  He wasn't used to all the floridian life.  almost everyday Roy is bullied by an older kid named Dana.  Yes he's a boy.  But one day he is on the bus dana is shoving his face into the window.  He notices a kid running with no shoes and no shirt.

 

The kid is spriting as fast as he can.  Roy is wondering why he's running so fast?  A few days after he spots some owls burrowing in the ground.  They are very small.  The whole story is based on how Roy tries to save these small little owls from a construction site.  These owls get saved and get to keep their home. 

 

                                             Dark Life

In the story dark life the main character Ty, is an unusual teen.  He's 15 and lives with his family beneath the sea.  His family owns 200 acres of land on the sea floor.  Ty loves exploration, especially exploring coldsleep canyon.  To go there alone is completely forbidden.  but he regards and does it anyway.  however while going down in to the deep dark abyss he remembers why hes going down there in the first place.  His brother, he died in a submarine crash and Ty wants to investigate.  So he goes, not to deep though because of the pressure.  And he spots an object but when gettin closer he sees a mini submarine.  He then pushes the opening panal and it sucks him in.  There is air not much but some air.  Ty starts to hear banging on the door so he looks though the glass.  A ton of sharks swarm the sub.  A door opens Ty had gun ready and out emerged a girl.  Her name was Gemma.  

She had rented the submarine from the trade station by the docks.  She did not know how to drive it well so she crashed it.  luckily Ty came and found her or she could have died in that Submarine. 

Tears of a Tiger

I enjoyed this book a lot, the conflict was really clear and interseting.  It all started when Andy, Tyrone, B.J and Rob were all extremely excited because they had won the basketball game.  The score was very close, it was 62-64.  After the game Tyrone and B.J surpised Andy and Rob with a case of beer in the trunk of Andy's car.  Andy started to drink and his friends followed, they all got in the car and were driving Rob home.  As Andy was driving the car swerved from lane to lane and eventullay fliped on to the roof.  Almost everybody got out safely with minor bruises and burns. except for Rob the car started to go up in flames and the three friends watched their friend burn al slow and painful death in the vehicle.  Andy could not execpt the fact that he killed his best friend.  The guilt was intolerable everyone in his school was so upset.  They tried their best to tell Andy that it was not his fault.  Then at the end of the book Andy ends up going suicide with his father's shotgun.  He couldn't bare the pain he was feeling over the death of his best friend Rob.
